Fugro awarded 3 long-term ROV support vessel contracts in Brazil

In partnership with vessel owners Greatship and Farstad, Fugro Brasil has been awarded 3 long-term contracts for ROV Support Vessels by Petrobras. The value of the tripartite contracts for Fugro is approximately USD 140 million and will involve ROV services and positioning. Greatship will be providing the vessels Greatship Rohini and Greatship Ramya and Farstad will be providing the vessel Far Scotia. The contract is for five years, with an option for an additional 5 years and the operations will commence early 2011.
 
These new ROV Support Vessel contracts will consolidate Fugro’s leading position as a supplier of ROV services in the IRM (Inspection Repair and Maintenance) market in Brazil, increasing the number of Fugro ROV Support Vessel contracts from 3 to 6.

Fugro awarded long term diving contract in Brazil

Fugro Brasil – Serviços Submarinos e Levantamentos Ltda. has been awarded a long term diving contract by Otto Candies for Petrobras in Brazil. The three party-contract has a value for Fugro of approximately USD 100 million, involving ROV and diving services. Otto Candies is providing the Diving Support Vessel (DSV) and the contract will be managed jointly. It is a 5-year contract with an additional 5-year option, with operations commencing mid 2011.
 
The brand new vessel Kelly Ann is being mobilised at Candies shipyard in the USA with a 14 man - 300m rated saturation diving system, a work class ROV (FCV 3000) and an observation ROV (Lynx), and will work for Petrobras offshore Brazil 24 hours, 7 days a week. The vessel will be engaged with Inspection Repair and Maintenance activities along the Brazilian coast. This project consolidates Fugro's position as a leading diving operator in Brazil.

Fugro opens new site in Brazil

Fugro Brasil’s new office was officially opened on 22 June in the presence of CEO Klaas Wester, local dignitaries and clients. The new site (pictured) is located in the business zone Rio das Ostras ZEN, bordering Macaé. This illustrates Fugro’s committment to the Brazilian market of the future. new fugro
 
With a building area of approximately 10,000 m2, the new site has two floors in the administrative building, with comfortable offices and several conference rooms. At the rear, a warehouse facility of 3000 m2 with a 10 ton overhead crane and wide storage space, together with a large training room and electrical and hydraulic laboratories for equipment testing and maintenance, including a dedicated room for ROV simulation and training. Outside the building a fabrication and welding area is located together with a test tank of 8 m depth.
 
The Fugro Brasil site was designed to accommodate the needs of the growing Brazilian market, not only for today, but also for years to come!
