FUGRO Group
Fugro was founded in 1962 in Holland, and is member of the Euronext N.V. at Amsterdam, since 1992. The name Fugro is derived from the dutch words 'FUnderingen em GROndmechanica', which means soil mechanics and foundations. The company logo represents and electrical cone penetrometer (for soil essays), being pushed towards soil layers.
Fugro acquires and analyses data related to the earth surface (continent and ocean), soil and rocks beneath. Based on the collected data, we supply services to clients such as as oil and gas industry, mining and construction companies. As present around the globe we work on land, air and sea, using highly specialized professionals, and high technology advanced systems, some of them developed in house.
Presently, Fugro has approx. 250 offices and more than 13.000 employees, distributed along 50 countries around the world.
The Fugro N.V. is the holding of a large number of companies. To ensure its efficiency its management is highly decentralized. The holding activities are managed by a limited number of persons, and the companies experience a large but controlled independence, as most of its authority and executive responsibility are in the hands of its managers.
